Before Surgery

1. Stop taking dietary supplements or aspirin other than for treatment purposes 1 week prior to surgery. 2. Do not cut your hair too short and if necessary, coloring of your hair should be done a week before. 3. Abstain from alcohol 24 hours prior to surgery and get a full night’s sleep before surgery. 4. Advise your physician in advance if you are under any medication or allergic to certain drugs.

 

On The Day of Surgery

1. Have a light meal on the day of surgery, and drugs for treatment purpose can be taken. 2. Please wear a comfortable shirt with a wide neck. 3. Bring a loose cap that you can wear after surgery. 4. On the day of surgery, shampoo the hair until it is clean and do not use hair products.

 

After Surgery

1. It is important for recovery to take enough rest on the day of surgery and the next day. 2. Come back to the hospital 1~2 days after surgery and receive treatment of the donor area and for shampooing. 3. You can wash your hair by yourself 3 days after surgery. Shampoo your hair under light water pressure on the transplanted area, lightly lather foam on and rinse. 4. Ten days after surgery, you can remove the stitches of the donor area and go back to your normal lifestyle.

 

Progress after Surgery

Please be careful with the transplanted hairs for 10 days after surgery. 2. Lightly tap the area when the transplanted area is itchy rather than scratching it until the stitches are removed. 3. The collected area and transplanted area may become numb or sensitive but it will fade away as time goes by. 4. It is normal for 70 to 80% of the transplanted hairs to come out after two to four weeks. New hair will grow out from these roots around four months later.
