Dr. LEEMOONWON

is creating super hair products by minimizing the use of chemical ingredients and harnessing the full vitality and healing power of natural ingredients.

He does not use substances such as steroids, female hormones, finasteride (a male hormone inhibitor), dutasteride (a male hormone inhibitor), minoxidil, immunosuppressants, antibiotics, and similar agents at all.

Exclusively utilizing a diverse range of plants, seaweeds, and other natural elements grown in the mountains, fields, and seas of Korea, Dr. LEEMOONWON creates remedies and products.

Dr. LEEMOONWON gathers special herbs and natural ingredients from places like Jirisan, where numerous plants and organisms thrive, Jeju Island with its pristine nature, the mysterious island of Wando surrounded by clean waters, Seomjingang which heralds the beginning of spring, and Geoje Island adorned with clusters of centuries-old camellia trees.

In February, camellia flowers bloom, and in March, apricot, ginger tree, plum, and cherry blossoms flourish. The new leaves sprout on oak trees and green tea plants. In May, one can witness the golden and silver magnolias, while in August, Omija berries turn ripe red, and wild chrysanthemums bloom in the mountains. During October and November, white tea flowers blossom, and the medicinal properties of angelica and ginseng become the strongest. Additionally, camellia seeds are rich in oil. In the cold winter, berries accumulate abundant nutrients.

During these times, valuable elements are meticulously gathered and their best components are extracted to be used in therapies and products.

1. Representative Natural Ingredients

Omija from Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk

Omija, also known as "five-flavor berry," gets its name from its unique combination of five tastes (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and pungent). It ripens into a vibrant red color in August and is usually harvested from mid-August to early September.

Dr. LEEMOONWON utilizes omija from Mungyeong in Gyeongsangbuk-do. Mungyeong is a region known for its optimal conditions for growing omija, thanks to its high elevation and significant temperature fluctuations.

Omija enhances lung, liver, and kidney functions. Various experiments have shown that using omija as a standalone remedy or in combination with other ingredients has positive effects on improving hair loss conditions. Additionally, there are research papers indicating its ability to promote collagen synthesis, making it a valuable natural ingredient for improving skin and hair health. Therefore, it is used in treatments and nutritional supplements (NutriDivine) for hair loss.

Camphor Trees from Jeju Island

The Camphor tree is a plant that thrives in warm regions, making it difficult to find in Seoul but commonly seen on Jeju Island.

In Jeju, old Camphor trees are designated and managed as protected trees.

Camphor trees are incredibly resilient, with the ability to live for thousands of years, and are particularly renowned for their anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and blood circulation-enhancing effects.

The Camphor tree contains a variety of compounds, with a distinctive cooling aroma largely attributed to a compound known as Camphor. Dr. LEEMOONWON utilizes the Camphor tree to lower scalp temperature, alleviate itching, and stimulate scalp blood circulation.

Plum Blossoms and Cherry Blossoms from Seomjin River

Plum blossoms, emblematic heralds of spring, find their most renowned display along the banks of the Seomjin River, making them the most famous in Korea.

Within plum blossoms, there abounds a wealth of antioxidant compounds like polyphenols and flavonoids. As a result, when applied to the skin, they aid in preventing aging and assisting in the recovery of damaged cells.

Within the petals, acidic compounds are contained, which work to inhibit the proliferation of various microorganisms present on the scalp and hair. As a result, this curtails the exacerbation of discomforts like scalp itchiness, dandruff, and redness, while also alleviating the symptoms. Furthermore, the presence of moisture-retaining active ingredients makes plum blossoms beneficial even for dry scalps.

Cherry blossoms, along with plum blossoms, are considered heralds of spring. Cherry trees and their blossoms have been used for acne treatment since ancient times, harnessing anti-inflammatory properties and the ability to inhibit acne-causing bacteria. Their sweet fragrance has also led to the widespread use of their petals during cleansing and bathing rituals. Similar to plum blossoms, cherry blossoms contain moisturizing elements and lack stickiness, making them excellent moisturizers for both the scalp and hair.

Ginger Blossoms from Hadong, Gyeongnam

The ginger tree, quite literally, derives its name from the fact that its flowers and leaves emit the scent of ginger. Ginger tree blossoms promote collagen synthesis and possess antioxidant effects, showcasing exceptional antimicrobial properties as well.

Collagen is closely related to hair loss. As scalp collagen breaks down, the scalp becomes rigid, thinner, leading to easy hair loss and weakening. Thus, it's crucial to maintain and facilitate proper collagen synthesis to enhance hair care. Ginger tree blossoms can be beneficial for hair care in this regard. Moreover, they exhibit antimicrobial effects against folliculitis and acne-causing bacteria present on the skin. Therefore, they can also be utilized to improve folliculitis and contribute to scalp health.

Green Tea Flowers from Jeju Island

Green tea flowers endure the frost of November and bloom in pure white. Despite their challenging journey to blossom, they quickly wither, underscoring the importance of delicately picking the flowers with care.

Green tea flowers are abundant in antioxidants, offering a protective shield against aging and damage to scalp cells. They also possess moisturizing properties, without being excessively sticky, making them a beneficial moisturizer for the scalp. Additionally, they contain a high content of catechins, which contribute to clarifying the bloodstream and promoting circulation within the scalp.

Furthermore, these flowers aid in alleviating inflammation and neutralizing odors on the scalp, often proving useful in the treatment of inflammatory scalp conditions.

Ginseng from Geumsan, Chungbuk

Ginseng is a potent herbal remedy with a range of impressive effects. It contains various types of saponin compounds, which have been linked to a multitude of benefits, including immune system enhancement, metabolism stimulation, promotion of new cell regeneration, and even anticancer effects.

Ginseng grows underground for about 4 to 6 years and is typically harvested between June and September. The hair growth-promoting effects of ginseng and its efficacy in treating hair loss have been substantiated through numerous research papers. As a result, ginseng is employed in the treatment of hair loss caused by various factors, including menopause-related hair loss, post-dietary hair loss, hair loss resulting from thyroid dysfunction or anemia, and more.

Geumsan, known for its abundant cultivation of ginseng, boasts a long history of expertise in nurturing high-quality ginseng. Dr. LEEMOONWON utilizes ginseng from Geumsan due to its wealth of knowledge in cultivating exceptional ginseng over the years.

Camellia Flowers and Camellia Oil from Geoje Island, Gyeongnam

Camellia flowers serve as nature's announcement that winter is coming to an end. They begin to bloom from as early as February, signaling the approach of spring before its official arrival. The sight of red camellia blossoms emerging from beneath a blanket of snow creates a vivid and striking impression.

Camellia flower extract offers anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties, making it effective in soothing sensitive skin. Its minimal side effects make it suitable for both adults and children. When applied, it can help alleviate symptoms of inflammation, itchiness, and redness that may occur on the scalp, ensuring that these symptoms don't worsen and providing relief.

Camellia oil, cherished by Koreans for over a thousand years, has been a favored hair treatment. It imparts shine to the hair and aids in the recovery of damaged strands. With minimal fragrance and irritation, it can be used safely and comfortably.

Maesaengi from Wando, Jeollanam-do

Maesaengi, harvested from mid-December to February, is a type of winter seaweed. Its appearance bears a resemblance to human hair strands. When consumed, it carries the distinct taste of the sea, delivering an authentic marine flavor.

Maesaengi, a type of seaweed that grows exclusively in clean seas, is rich in iron content. This makes it particularly beneficial for addressing issues such as anemia and female hair loss caused by poor dietary habits. Additionally, it aids in lowering cholesterol and triglycerides levels in the bloodstream while providing ample dietary fiber, contributing to the promotion of overall health and a balanced constitution.

Dr. LEEMOONWON has obtained a patent by demonstrating that the consumption of Maesaengi accelerates hair growth and stimulates the emergence of new hair follicles. This patent underscores the significant effect Maesaengi has on promoting healthy hair growth.

Danggui from Yeongwol, Gyeongbuk

Danggui, often referred to as the "Divine Herb for Women," holds remarkable efficacy, especially for women. This reputation highlights its significant benefits for female health.

Yeongwol in Gyeongbuk is a high-altitude region with elevations exceeding 600 meters. Its cool summer climate and ample sunlight make it the ideal environment for the cultivation of Danggui. Danggui, when consumed, stimulates the production of hemoglobin, thereby improving anemia and enhancing blood circulation.

Anemia is a prominent condition associated with female hair loss. Simply improving anemia can lead to reduced hair loss and improved hair thickness. Moreover, it enhances the elasticity of capillaries, improving blood circulation around hair follicles. This enables a greater supply of blood to the follicles. Danggui has a distinctive aroma that can also promote relaxation and soothing of the mind..

Gosam in Gyeongbuk, Yeoncheon

Gosam means "bitter ginseng" in Korean. It is very bitter, but it is called "bitter ginseng" because it heal inflammation and restore the body to normal. I use Gosam to treat seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, and hair loss on the scalp. Especially in cases where hair loss is caused by inflammation, Gosam is even better. As the skin inflammation improves, the hair loss caused by the skin inflammation will be less, and the hair that fell out due to the skin inflammation will grow back. According to a paper titled "A study on the molecular biological effects of Gosam extract on hair" published in 2004, the root extract of Gosam suppresses the production of DHT, a hormone that causes hair loss.

Oriental arborvitae in Danyang, Chungbuk

Oriental arborvitae are a medicinal herb that is known to reduce hair loss and darken hair, even in ancient medical texts. In fact, studies have shown that Oriental arborvitae extract can promote hair growth by regulating cytokines, which play an important role in hair growth. It also has antibacterial effects against Staphylococcus aureus, making it effective for scalp inflammatory diseases. Additionally, it dilates capillaries to improve blood circulation. However, it contains a high amount of essential oils, which can cause allergic reactions in some people. It also has a strong scent and stickiness, so caution is needed when using it.

Yukmijihwang

"Yukmijihwang" is a prescription composed of six traditional herbal ingredients.

Yukmijihwang is composed of six traditional herbal ingredients: Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (Rehmanniae Root), Cornus Officinalis (Cornus Fruit), Dioscorea Polystachya (Chinese yam), Poria, Moutan Cortex, and Alismatis Rhizoma.

Yukmijihwang is a representative prescription that was used to strengthen the liver and kidneys.

In particular, Korean Medicine suggests that hair loss can occur when the functions of the liver or kidneys are weakened. Yukmijihwang was used in such cases. Furthermore, research results indicate that Yukmijihwang can enhance hair growth speed by 10-58% and prevent collagen breakdown. Additionally, there are experimental papers that highlight its effectiveness in protecting the skin from damage caused by ultraviolet rays.

Indeed, Yukmijihwang has various effects including treating hair loss, promoting hair growth, enhancing skin elasticity, and preventing skin damage.

Geumenunhwa from Muju, Jeonbuk

Geumenunhwa, also known as Indongcho (Lonicera japonica), refers to the flowers of a plant. The name "Geumenunhwa" comes from the fact that the color of the flowers changes from white to gold. Geumenunhwa is particularly valued for its medicinal properties before the flowers fully bloom, so it is recommended to harvest them in May

Geumenunhwa, or Indongcho (Lonicera japonica), is known to have anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects. In a study titled "", it was observed that administering Geumenunhwa reduced the frequency of scratching in itchy areas, thinned the thickened skin caused by scratching, and decreased the levels of inflammatory cells in the blood. Particularly, at higher concentrations, Geumenunhwa exhibited effects similar to steroids (prednisolone: PSD).

Chikkkot from Jirisan

Chikkkot, also known as Platycodon grandiflorus, is a summer flower that blooms from August to September. Its vibrant blossoms grace the landscape during these months. Apart from its flowers, Chikkkot's roots are valued for their potential to alleviate muscle pain and prevent intoxication from alcohol consumption. However, the flowers themselves also possess a range of beneficial effects.

Chikkkot contains a variety of isoflavonoids and is known to promote cell growth. Additionally, recent research has suggested that it might contribute to delaying the onset of premature graying of hair. However, it's important to note that the effectiveness of Chikkkot can vary depending on its concentration, so it should be used at an appropriate dosage for optimal results.
